There is growing interest in business models for the regenerative economy and how agri-food businesses can remain profitable while supplying food, restoring biodiversity and tackling climate change.
A study conducted by Fergus Lyon, Amy Burnett and Robyn Owen draws on interviews with farmers, food industry businesses and advisers to explore the approaches emerging and the capabilities that farmers and other businesses need to develop to meet these multiple goals.
Catch up on our connect series event where Professor Fergus Lyon and Dr Amy Burnett from Middlesex University present the study and explore the questions:
- What are business models for nature-positive regenerative agriculture supply chains?
- What are the capabilities required by businesses in the regenerative agriculture supply chains to deliver and report on biodiversity recovery and greenhouse gas reduction?
- How does the support infrastructure build capabilities of businesses to transition?
On the first Thursday of each month our Knowledge Exchange Fellow, Dr Tracey Duncombe, holds a webinar showcasing research and innovation across the Food System landscape. To date, these events have covered a variety of topics from public diners and whole school approaches to food, to putting food centre stage at COP29 and cultured meat. If you would like to join future webinars please email food.systems@bbsrc.ukri.org or to catch up on previous events visit our YouTube playlist.
